I posted a few weeks back that I thought I was coming down with something. That turned out to be a false alarm--I was fine the next day. So on Wednesday when I was feeling a little under the weather, I had hoped that would turn out the same way. I woke up Thursday morning feeling fine, and it appeared that we had another false alarm, so I went to spin class. It was really hard. By noon or so it was apparent why it was hard--my throat was beginning to get sore. By 5 pm, I could hardly swallow. It's a *little* better today, but still not great. So, it looks like I've got an unscheduled day or two off. That's ok, though--I've done some pretty hard running the last 7 days, and the half is still a couple of months away. Maybe a little rest will do me some good.

New York is this weekend, and it's absolutely loaded on the women's side. Paula, Catherine the Great, Rita Jeptoo, Gete Wami, and Dire Tune, along with three other past champions. And Kara Goucher will be making her marathon debut--it should be a good one.

Tom brought some kind of cold home with him, so I managed to come down with the crud too. Thursday and Friday were rough, and I'm just now reclaiming my lungs.
