It's amazing the things that you take for granted. Being able to flip on a lightswitch, turn on a fan, or grab a cold drink out of the 'fridge. We've been back since Wednesday, and finally had our electricity restored on Friday afternoon. It's good to be home, though the big piles of debris EVERYWHERE are a good indicator that things just aren't back to normal. Mass in the dark this morning was another...
But, the running is still good. It has been very dark at Memorial Park this week, and it's hard to convince yourself to really stride it out when you can't see the ground in front of you clearly. Hopefully they'll get those lights back on soon.
The HARRA XC Relay was a blast last night, though it was HOT. Makes the cold beer taste that much better, though. I ran on an ALRC mixed team, but had to leave shortly after the race, so I have no idea how we did. My run was ok--it's just such a tough course. The first mile started uphill and then leveled off, but the second mile was all up and down, including one hill that you really just have to walk up. It's that steep. A little sand and a little storm debris made the footing tough, but I do love running cross country, so it was fun.
Ran River Oaks with the BCRR this morning. 11 miles in 1:24:02 (7:39 pace). Weather was nice--the run felt good. You could hear the hum of the generators still running in River Oaks...
Looks like the morning weather will be great for running this week...

And it looks like Geb wasn't kidding when he said he could go 2:03. He broke the 2:04 barrier in Berlin this weekend! Unreal. Where's the limit? How low can "we" go?

Good to see you on the run Sunday!
The XC Relay sounds like fun, I was planning on doing it but then the stupid non-running injury happened. Oh well maybe next year!
